  2. interpersonal (one on one –> with patient)
  3. transpersonal (within person’s spiritual domain)

What are the 5 elements of a communication process?

A
  1. referent/stimulus (what motives to communicate with someone)
  2. sender (person starts communication)
  3. message (info said by sender to receiver)
  4. receiver (person who receives message)
  5. feedback ( receiver sends a message back –> verbal or not, we see if message was understood or not)

is there a difference between verbal and non-verbal communication? if so, what is it?

A

yes there is and the difference is that there is one that is not expressed with words but with physical expressions like facial, posture, eye movement, etc

A

environmental: noise, safety, privacy
personal characteristics: physical appearance, posture, attractiveness
