Process of semi conservative replication

A
  • Two strands of DNA are seperated by DNA helicase by breaking the H+ bonds between complimentary bases
  • One strand is used as a template strand
  • Complimentary base pairing occurs between template strand and free nucleotides
  • DNA polymerase joins strands together (adjacent nucleotides) and forms phosphodiester bonds
  • 2 identical strands
