why is John’s gospel different from the Synoptic Gospels?

A

1- John omits important events such as Jesus temptation, transfiguration, the Lord’s supper, sermon on the mount, and the Lord’s prayer.
2= it does include in John 2-4 jesus early Galilean ministry, visits to Jerusalem before the passion, resurrection of Lazarus in John 11, the extended farewell discourse in John 13-17.

other difference;
90% OF JOHN LACKS direct verbal parallel ; john depictrs 3 year ministry while the synoptics describe one year.

who wrote John?

but some argue that the Christology is too developed, the Gospel is too theological and mystical, the words of Jesus are not in the same order as those in the Synoptics, and the material reflects a church situaition outside Palestine.

its fundamental in John. is a dynamic activity: believe occurs in various verbal forms about one hundred times in John, while the noun faith is absent.
for john faith is a personal trust in Christ informed by certain facts and truths.
