What are the adverse effects of typical NSAIDs?
GI: Ulcer formation, dyspepsia, nausea & vomiting
Renal: Na & H20 retention, peripheral edema, hypertension, vasoconstrict renal afferent arteriole
Asthma: Trigger bronchospasm
Skin rashes, swelling, nasal congestion, itching, anaphylactic shock
Easy bruising, bleeding
What is the difference between COX 1 and COX 2?
COX 1 is in charge of housekeeping matters
COX 2 is in charge of inflammation
