What are solutions in appearance?
Solutions are uniform in appearance.
What does uniform mean?
Uniform means that the solid cannot be seen in the solution.
What can dissolve in a liquid?
Some solids.
What is dissolving?
Dissolving is the process of mixing a solid and a liquid so that the solid is no longer visible.
What is soluble?
Soluble is when a solid is able to dissolve in a liquid.
What is insoluble?
Insoluble is when a solid cannot dissolve in a liquid.
Is dissolving different from melting?
Yes.
What does dissolving use?
Dissolving uses mixing to combine a solid with a liquid.
What does melting use?
Melting uses heat to convert one solid into a liquid.
What does not melt in water?
Sugar.
