How much water is in blood?
55%
What does “dehydrate” mean?
Dehydrate means to lose alot of water from your body.
What also depends on water?
Plants.
Why do plants need water?
Plants need the nutrients dissolved in the water.

STEP 5: Other chemicals are added to remove any bad tastes or smells from the water.
STEP 6: The water is pumped to factories and houses.
What are the 4 ways to purify water?
Boiling Water, Filtering Water, Settling Water, and Chemical Treatments.
- Boiling Water
Boiled water is heated to kill any _____ in the water.
This method uses alot of ___________ or ________ and does not remove _______ or ________ pollutants.
Germs; electricity; firewood; soluble; insoluble.
- Filtering Water
Pouring water through a ______ or filter _____ removes most of the insoluble pollutants, such as ____. But _____ can pass through the filter paper. So can _______ pollutants such as salts and _________.
Funnel; paper; sand; germs; soluble; chemicals.
- Settling Water
Water that is allowed to ______ will appear _____, but not all the insoluble __________ will settle. Germs and soluble pollutants are not _______.
Settle; clean; pollutants; removed.
- Chemical treatments
Chlorine or ______ can be added to water to ____ germs, but these chemicals are _________ and can make the water taste _____.
Iodine; kill; expensive; awful.
