Novak ANS Flashcards
What are the major divisions of the Nervous system?
Sensory nervous (afferent) and motor nervous (efferent) system.
.What are the divisions of the sensory nervous system division?
The somatic and the visceral sensory system
What are the divisions of the motor nervous system division?
The somatic motor and the autonomic motor
What are the divisions within the autonomic nervous system?
The parasympathetic, sympathetic, and enteric.
Somatic nervous system neuron structures
1 somatic sensory neuron and 1 somatic motor neuron
Autonomic nervous system neuron structures
1 visceral sensory neuron and 2 autonomic motor neuron. The motor neuron synapses through a autonomic ganglion.
What are the origins of the sympathetic nerves?
T1-L2.
What are the origins of the parasymphathetic nerves?
Brainstem cranial nerves CN3, CN7, CN9, CN10, and sacral nerves.
