What is in a noun?
Case, number, person and explanation
What is the nominative case?
Subject of a sentence, whether the verb is active or passive, or something describing the subject
What is the vocative case?
A person being addressed
What is the accusative case?
The direct object of a verb, to show duration of time or to show motion towards a place
What is the genitive case?
To show possession eg the boy’s book or of the boy’s book
Partitive genitive- when something is part of a larger group
Quantities- eg in currency
Used after verbs and adjectives of remembering
Description- eg of great cleverness
What is the dative case?
The object of a verb

Dative of agent- the person by whom a passive verb is done eg killed by Brutus
