What are declensions?
A declension is really just a big word for a group. There are 5 declensions in latin.
What are the cases?
Nominative, Vocative, Accusative, Genitive, Dative, Ablative
What is the Nominative case?
It is primarily used for the Subject of the sentence i.e the person or thing who is doing the verb.
What is the Vocative case?
It is used when addressing someone or something.
What is the Accusative case?
It is primarily used for the Object of the sentence i.e the person or thing who is having something done to them.
What is the Genitive case?
The primary use of the Genitive case is for possession. It is translated as ‘of’ the noun.
What is the Dative case?
The primary use of the Dative case is when something is being given to someone or when something is done for someone.
What is the Ablative case?
The Ablative is primarily translated by adding the words ‘by’, ‘with’ or ‘from’.
