What does it mean when a disease is notifiable? [3]

A

A notifiable disease is any disease that is required by law to be reported to government authorities.
The ‘Proper Officer’ at the Local Health Protection Team needs to be notified. They in turn will notify the Health Protection Agency on a weekly basis.
