- The contestants vehicle was legally and properly parked
- The contestants vehicle was stopped in traffic in compliance with a traffic sign or signal or at the discretion of a police officer
- Waived by the NTDC Committee in accordants with specific, narrow guidelines
- The contestant’s vehicle struck an animal that resulted in death, injury or property damage, so long as the death or injury is confined to the animal and the property damage is due to the initial impact with the animal
