Deontological:
Concerned with actions or duties
Teleological:
Concerned with the consequence/purpose of actions
Absolutism:
Ethics being true for all time, in all places and situations, does not depend on the situation
Relativism:
Idea that the moral standard is subjective to our situation, things are good or bad according to our perspective due to our culture/time period we live in
Intrinsic good:
something that is good within itself, good because of the kind of thing it is
Instrumental good:
something which is not good in itself but good because it leads to an intrinsic good
Character-based ethics:
A theory of ethics which focuses on the character or qualities of the moral agent rather than the act itself
Prudence:
Right reason applied to practise (cardinal virtue)
Justice:
Ensuring people get what is deserved/owed (cardinal virtue)
Fortitude:
Ability to develop courage, overcome fear and be steady in your will (cardinal virtue)
Temperance:
Restraint of the passions (cardinal virtue)
