SPEED MANAGEMENT
STABILIZATION CRITERIA
Approaches must be stabilized :
1000 ft AAL or MDA + 100 (callout), whichever is higher, in IMC conditions (FAF if approach is conducted in 2D)
500 ft AAL in VMC conditions
An approach is considered stabilized when all the following criteria are met :
- Lateral path is tracked ;
- Landing configuration is established ;
- Energy management : Vertical path, Power setting
- Speed and pitch attitude are relevant to actual conditions ;
- Briefing and checklists are completed.
DEVIATIONS
TORQUE PRESETS
For flight profiles other than standard 3° approach, use following corrections to maintain the required flight path angle :
±3% TQ <=> ±1% slope
±5% TQ <=> ±1° slope
±5% TQ <=> ±10 Kt wind component
CROSSWIND
Mean crosswind should be within the local regulation limitations.
Crosswind (gust included) should always be within the limits of the maximum demonstrated crosswind.
