Normal Operations Flashcards
Crew must wear headsets:
- Before engine start and up to FL100
- From FL100 to engine shut down
- On Captain’s decision
Captain may assign the Copilot as Pilot Flying in these conditions:
- NO aircraft malfunctions that require non-standard procedures to follow for normal operations
- NO abnormal or emergency procedures in progress
- NO runway contamination
- NO low visibility procedure in progress
- Actual visibility at or above 1.5 times Commander’s operating minima qualifications for landing
- Crosswind not more than 20 Kts for landing and/ or takeoff
- Any other actual parameter reaching the limitation given in LIMITATIONS chapter
Stabilization altitude:
In IMC the approach must be stabilized before 1000FT AAL and if not stabilized, and in VMC, the approach may be continued to 500FT AAL
Flight parameters deviations:
“SPEED”…+10 kts/ -5 kts
“PITCH”…Any approptiate pitch or 5 deg on touchdown
“BANK ANGLE”…Over 30 deg
“GLIDESLOPE”…1/2 Dot
“LOCALIZER”…1/2 Dot
“SINK RATE”…Above 1000 fpm on final approach
“ALTITUDE”…+/- 100 feet
Sterile cockpit concept:
- Pushback
- Taxi
- Takeoff
- Landing
- Flight below approximately FL100 (except cruise)
Visit to the flight deck:
Passengers visit to the flight deck are FORBIDDEN
When GPU is available, Hotel Mode should only be started…
After the Preliminary Cockpit Preparation
Is ATC clearance necessary for Hotel Mode:
NO, because engine start-up is considered when the propeller rotates
A positive ROC is confirmed by…
A continuous increase of altitude in altimeter
In initial climb do not exceed … pitch up
15 deg
At takeoff AP may be coupled as soon as…
The landing gear is up and above 100 ft
At takeoff a turn may be initiated at…
Least 400 ft AAL
Bank selector may be switched to HI….
At 10 kts above white bug / red bug (icing conditions)
Best gradient for climb…
White bug
Best rate of climb…
White bug + 10 kts
Best gradient for climb and best rate of climb in icing conditions…
Red bug for both of them
QNH should be set as soon as…
A clearance to an altitude is given
Seat Belts sign should be set to ON as soon as…
Descent is initiated, but NOT later than 15 minutes before expected landing time
Landing lights shall be switched ON…
Below FL 100
“Cabin crew take your seats for landing” call, at least…
5 min before landing
Before reaching the FAP/ FAF, all the NAV AIDS used for approach must be….
Identified
Descent briefing should be conducted….
10 minutes before reaching the TOD
VGA is the highest value between:
- 1.1 VMCA (read in the QRH) or
- VAPP no wind + 5 kts
