Name a time you had a conflict with a coworker how did you approach
I first tried to understand their point of view by actively listening to concerns and opinions
i then expressed my own in a respectful manner and tried to find common ground
I would then suggest a compromise and an alternative solution
The main goal is to keep communication open and with empathy while having a positive and collaborative attitude
Biggest weakness
My biggest weakness would be my lack of experience, especually in testifying. However in my alcohol class we will have two different mock trial where i will be able to paractice testifying. I see this weakness as an oppurtunity for growth and development. As a quick learner i can quickly acquire the skills and knowledge to excel. Im highly motivated to learn from my more experinced collegue and seek out additonal videos and training to supplement my own learning
Why are you interested in this positon?
This position aligns with my passion in the field as well as my values. It also And also allows me the opportunity to come back to the community that my family is in.

How do you deal with pressure
Take a minute to breathe and make a list and priotize tasks to manage my workload. I always maintain a postive attitude and approach challenges as a oppurtunity to learn and grow.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years
I see myself as a expert in the field where i can continue to learn and develop skills and eventually become a mentor to other chemist.
WHy should we hire you
I have the hard skills that you are looking for in an candiate along with the educational background in drug analysis, ethichs and professionalism, and currently enrolled in alcohol analysis and interpretaition. I have also had many labs and internships that have given me some experience in analytical instrumentation. I have also worked with the employees at this lab and I know that I could be a good fit with the culture you have created. I also have the soft skills you are looking for. I am a team player, clear communitcator, and i have a good sense of humor. I have kept up with this agency and i know you are looking for someone who can take ownership of this role. ANd i believe I could do that.

Can you give an example of a time when you had to adapt to a new situation?
When I started my internship at a forensic laboratory, I had never used a Shimadzu instruments or their software so I had to quickly learn how to use the software programs. I spent time studying the manual and observing Nathan to understand how to operate the equipment and create a calibration curve to interpret the data. I also asked for feedback and guidance from Nathan, who provided me with additional resources and training opportunities. By being proactive and willing to learn, I was able to adapt to the new situation and become proficient in my work.”
