What investigations will be done in Antenatal Clinic?
BP
Urine - Protein/Infections
Blood Group - Rhesus
Haemoglobinopathies Screen - Thalassaemia/SCD
Infection Screen -HIV, Hep B, Syphillis
Hb
What will be done in a “booking” appointment?
USS: Viability, Location, ?Multiple, EDD, Struc abnormality, Nuchal translucency
Screening: 11+2, 14+1, PAPP-A, mat age, hcg, Screening for T21, T18, T13
What’s investigated in Quadruple Test?
Inhibin A, Oestriol, Hcg, AFP
What dose and when would you give aspirin?
150mg at night
What are the changes in risk during labour?
1) Raised heart rate/BP +/- proteinuria
2) Pyrexia 38deg or 2x37.5
3) Vaginal blood loss other than a show
4) Membrane rupture >24hrs
5) Pain: Excluding contraction, request additional pain relief
What are the changes at risk for foetus in labour?
Presence of meconium
Need for postnatal resuscitation
