It’s energy that will eventually run out one day

What are fossil fuels?
A
Fossil fuels are fuels that give us energy, such as electricity, that are naturally made over millions of years from dead plants and animals

How is coal made?
A
- Coal starts off as ferns, plants and trees
- They get hardened from pressure and heat
- After many years (this could take up to a million years), the plants would turn into coal

How is oil made?
A
- Oil starts off as small organisms (algae and plankton)
- There’s a lot of pressure surrounding them
- They decompose
- After many years (this could take a million years) the animals would turn into oil
