NON-PARAMETRIC TESTS Flashcards
used to compare paired data by evaluating the direction of differences (ignoring magnitude)
SIGN TEST
compares two independent groups to determine if their population distributions are different based on ranks, rather than the actual data values
WILCOXON RANK SUM TEST
MANN-WHITNEY U TEST
compares two related (paired) samples, measuring whether their population mean ranks differ (tests for differences in medians)
WILCOXON SIGNED RANK TEST
compares the medians of two or more groups to determine if they come from populations with the same median
MEDIAN TEST
non-parametric alternative to one-way ANOVA, used to compare three or more independent groups to determine if they come from the same distribution, using ranks
KRUSKAL-WALLIS RANK TEST
non-parametric alternative to one-way ANOVA, used to compare three or more independent groups to determine if they come from the same distribution, using ranks
KRUSKAL-WALLIS RANK TEST
used to compare three or more related groups (repeated measures) to see if their distributions differ
FRIEDMAN TEST
compares groups by shuffling the data labels and recalculating the test statistic, helping to determine if the observed effect is due to chance
PERMUTATION TEST
The test compares the variances of two or more related groups when data is not normally distributed.
COCHRAN TEST
