Non-Oncogene Addiction Flashcards

1
Q

Give examples of non-oncogene addictions in cancer cells

A
Dependence on heterotypic signalling
Dependence on prosurvival pathways
Dependence on angiogenesis
Glucose dependence
Dependence on stress supports; oxidative stress, dna damage stress, mitotic stress, proteotoxic stress

Q

How does velcade/bortezumab work?

A

Prevents proteosome activity and so destruction of dysfunctional proteins and so disrupts the protein homeostasis of the cell, submitting it to proteosome stress.
