What are checklists without an EICAS alert called?
Unannunciated checklists.
When should troubleshooting be considered?
When completion of a non-normal checklist results in an unacceptable situation.
When must the flight crew land at nearest suitable airport?
- When directed by the checklist
- Fire or smoke continues
- only one AC power source remains
- any other situation with a significant adverse effect on safety
What are the actions for loss of an engine indication?
To continue normal operations.
When can a C/B be reset?
Generally it is not recommended, but it may be reset after a 2 min cooling period if the C/B trip has a significant adverse effect on safety.
When during a non-normal situation is verbal confirmation required from both pilots?
Before moving:
- A/T arm switch
- Thrust lever
- Fuel control switch
- Engine or APU fire switch or cargo fire arm switch
- generator drive disconnect switch
Exception is dual engine failure.
When may reference checklists be done by memory?
When no hazard is created by such action, or if the situation doesn’t allow reference to the checklist.
