Approach to stall or stall recovery

A

INITIATE RECOVERY

Hold control column firmly
Disengage AP & AT
Reduce AOA

CONTINUE RECOVERY

Wings level in the shortest distance
Advance thrust levers
Retract speed brakes
No config change EXCEPT flaps 1 if flaps are up on liftoff

COMPLETE RECOVERY

Adjust thrust as needed
Return to desired FP
Re-engage AP and AT if needed

A

Simultaneously close TLs
Disengage AT
Apply max brake or verify RTO ops
Raise speed brakes
Apply TRs

A

Disengage AP & AT
Apply MAX thrust
Wings level
Pitch up 20 deg
Retract speedbrakes (if terrain still a threat continue to stick shaker)
No config change
Once clear decrease pitch and accelerate

Upset Recovery Conditions

A

. Pitch attitude > 25 deg nose up
. Pitch attitude > 10 deg nose down
. Bank angle > 45 deg
. < the above parameters but flying at an airspeed inappropriate for the conditions.

Unacceptable flight path deviations can be recognized by uncontrolled changes from normal steady state flight conditions below 1000ft AGL, in excess of the ff

  • 15kts IAS
  • 500 fpm VS
  • 5 deg pitch attitude
  • 1 dot displacement 4rm d GS
  • unusual TL pos for a significant period of time
