Aborted engine start
- Engine start lever (aff eng) ..CUTOFF
Airspeed unreliable
- AP (if engaged) ……… Disengage
- AT (if engaged) ……… Disengage
- F/D switches (both) ……… OFF
- Set the ff gear up pitch attitude & thrust:
Flaps ext …………. 10 deg and 80% N1
Flaps up ………….. 4 deg and 75% N1
APU fire
- Apu fire switch ….. confirm ….. pull, rotate to the stop and hold for 1 sec
- Apu switch ………… OFF
Cabin alt warning or rapid depressurisation
- Don oxy masks & set regulators to 100%
- Est crew communication
- Press mode selector ……. Man/(AC)
- Outflow valve switch ……. Hold in CLOSE until the outflow valve indication shows fully closed
- If cabin alt is uncontrollable:
Pax signs ……………………… ON
Pax oxy switch ……………… ON
Go to the emergency descent checklist
Emergency descent
- Announce the emergency descent
PF: advise cabin crew via PA
PM: advise ATC, obtain area altimeter setting - Pax signs ……………………. ON
- Immediate descent to the lowest safe alt or 10,000ft, whichever is higher
- Engine start switch ……… CONT
- TLs (both) …….. reduce thrust to min or as needed for anti-ice
- Speed brake ………… FLIGHT DETENT
- Set target speed to mmo/vmo
If structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high maneuvering loads.
Engine fire or Engine severe damage or separation
- AT (if engaged) ………… Disengage
- TL (aff eng) ….. confirm ….. Close
- Eng start lever (aff eng) … confirm … CUTOFF
- Eng fire sw (aff eng) ….. confirm … pull
To manually unlock the eng fire sw, press the override and pull - If the engine fire sw or eng ovht light is illum:
Eng fire sw ….. Rotate to the stop and hold for 1sec
If after 30secs the eng fire sw or eng ovht light stays illum:
Eng fire sw ……. Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1sec
Engine limit, surge or stall
- AT (if engaged) ……………. Disengage
- TL (aff eng) …… confirm …… Retard until eng indications stay within limits or the TL is closed
Engine overheat
- AT (if engaged) ……………. Disengage
- TL (aff eng) …… confirm ….. close
- If eng ovht light stays illum:
Go to engine fire or engine severe damage or separation checklist
Loss of thrust on both engines
- Eng start sw (both) ………….. FLT
- Eng start levers (both) .. CUTOFF
- When EGT decreases:
Eng start levers (both) ….. IDLE detent
- If EGT reaches 930 deg cel or there is no increase in EGT within 30secs
Eng start levers (aff eng) … confirm .. CUTOFF, then IDLE detent
Repeat as needed
Runaway stabilizer
- Control column ……….. Hold firmly
- AP (if engaged) ………… Disengage
Do not re-engage AP (control a/c pitch attitude manually with control column & main electric trim as needed)
- AT (if engaged) …………. Disengage
Do not re-engage AT
- If runaway stops end of CL
- If runaway continues:
STAB TRIM CUTOUT switches (both) … CUTOUT
- If runaway continues:
Stab trim wheel …. Grasp & hold
Uncommanded Roll
- AP (if engaged) …………….. Disengage
- Maintain control of the airplane with all available flight controls. If roll is uncontrollable, immediately reduce pitch/AOA & increase speed. Do not attempt to maintain alt until control is recovered.
- AT (if engaged) …………… Disengage
- Verify thrust is symmetrical
Landing & T/O configuration
- Assure correct airplane landing / T/O configuration
