Cabin alt warning or rapid depressurisation

  1. Don oxy masks & set regulators to 100%
  2. Est crew communication
  3. Press mode selector ……. Man/(AC)
  4. Outflow valve switch ……. Hold in CLOSE until the outflow valve indication shows fully closed
  5. If cabin alt is uncontrollable:

Pax signs ……………………… ON
Pax oxy switch ……………… ON

Emergency descent

A
  1. Announce the emergency descent
    PF: advise cabin crew via PA
    PM: advise ATC, obtain area altimeter setting
  2. Pax signs ……………………. ON
  3. Immediate descent to the lowest safe alt or 10,000ft, whichever is higher
  4. Engine start switch ……… CONT
  5. TLs (both) …….. reduce thrust to min or as needed for anti-ice
  6. Speed brake ………… FLIGHT DETENT
  7. Set target speed to mmo/vmo
    If structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high maneuvering loads.

Engine fire or Engine severe damage or separation

A
  1. AT (if engaged) ………… Disengage
  2. TL (aff eng) ….. confirm ….. Close
  3. Eng start lever (aff eng) … confirm … CUTOFF
  4. Eng fire sw (aff eng) ….. confirm … pull
    To manually unlock the eng fire sw, press the override and pull
  5. If the engine fire sw or eng ovht light is illum:

Eng fire sw ….. Rotate to the stop and hold for 1sec

If after 30secs the eng fire sw or eng ovht light stays illum:

Eng fire sw ……. Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1sec

Loss of thrust on both engines

A
  1. Eng start sw (both) ………….. FLT
  2. Eng start levers (both) .. CUTOFF
  3. When EGT decreases:

Eng start levers (both) ….. IDLE detent

  1. If EGT reaches 930 deg cel or there is no increase in EGT within 30secs

Eng start levers (aff eng) … confirm .. CUTOFF, then IDLE detent

Repeat as needed

Runaway stabilizer

A
  1. Control column ……….. Hold firmly
  2. AP (if engaged) ………… Disengage

Do not re-engage AP (control a/c pitch attitude manually with control column & main electric trim as needed)

  1. AT (if engaged) …………. Disengage

Do not re-engage AT

  1. If runaway stops end of CL
  2. If runaway continues:

STAB TRIM CUTOUT switches (both) … CUTOUT

  1. If runaway continues:

Stab trim wheel …. Grasp & hold

Uncommanded Roll

A
  1. AP (if engaged) …………….. Disengage
  2. Maintain control of the airplane with all available flight controls. If roll is uncontrollable, immediately reduce pitch/AOA & increase speed. Do not attempt to maintain alt until control is recovered.
  3. AT (if engaged) …………… Disengage
  4. Verify thrust is symmetrical
