Q

Restart during Flight

A
  1. Throttle gate - DISENGAGE
  2. Throttle (affected engine) - OFF (10 SECONDS, IF CONDITIONS PERMIT)
  3. Altitude - BELOW 25,000 FEET
  4. Engine RPM - WITHIN AIRSTART ENVELOPE, 12% MIN (18-20% is heart of airstart envelope at all altitudes)
  5. BATTER switch - ON
  6. BOOST PUMP switches - CHECK ON
  7. Engine start and ignition circuit breakers - IN (LEFT CONSOLE IN THE FCP)
  8. ENGINE START button (affected engine) - PUSH
  9. Throttle - ADVANCE TO IDLE.
Give it 30 seconds in idle before aborting start.
If restart fails, try it with CROSSFEED switch - ON

Q

Ejection Procedure (Full)

A

Notify crewmembers and confirm seat is armed and unpinned, at ISS is set correctly (BOTH).
Select IFF EMERGENCY and transmit distress call
Obtain safe ejection conditions:
a. 200-300 KCAS
b. 2,000 - 4,000’ AGL; 2,000 minimum
c. Wings level, slightly climbing
Stow loose equipment, put visor down, fasten oxygen max and helmet chin strap, lock inertial reel lever and tighten leg straps.
Turn aircraft toward uninhabited area, assume the proper body position, and eject. (Sitting erect, spine straight, head agains seat pad firmly, elbows close to body, extend legs forward until weight of thighs is in the seat, but legs not rigid)
