What is an Ethernet cable?
An Ethernet Cable is the way we generally transmit network packets through a network within a building.
How many pairs of cables are there?
An Ethernet Cable is made up of four twisted pairs of small copper wires.
What does pair 1 (orange) do?
These are used for transmitting data TO other devices.
What does pair 2 (Green) do?
These are used for receiving data FROM other devices.
What does pair 3 (Blue) do?
These are used for high speed internet (up to 1Gbps) and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
What does pair 4 (Brown) do?
Reserved solely for high-speed internet and PoE.
What can happen if you put the cables in the wrong order?
If you insert cables in the wrong order then you can experience some extremely slow speeds or even mixed signals coming through the cable.
What is the order for putting in the cables
1.White Orange, 2.Orange, 3.White Green, 4.Blue, 5.White Blue, 6.Green, 7.White Brown, 8,Brown.
