What is nicotine?
A chemical substance found in tobacco leaves. The addiction to nicotine is what makes smoking so difficult to quit.
Health problems of nicotine?
Develop a heart disease, poisoning, increased risk of smoke, yellowing teeth, yellowing fingers, increased risk of lung cancer and respiratory ailments.
What is tobacco?
More than 4000 chemicals in tobacco smoke (best known chemicals are nicotine, tar & carbon monoxide.)
Short term effects of smoking?
Bad smelling of clothes, hair and breath, pale skin, reduces fitness levels, higher chances of illness and increased risks of injury.
What are 3 types of passive smoking?
Mainstream, Exhaled and Sidestream / Passive smoking.
What is mainstream smoking
smoking from cigarettes, breathed directly by the person smoking
What is exhaled smoking
exhaled by the person smoking
What is sidestream / passive smoking?
Smoke from the end of cigarette. It has more chemicals than mainstream smoking and is inhaled by smokers and non-smokers.
