What is the department of health ?

A

1- The Department for Health – The government department is responsible for deciding how much funding the NHS receives. And developing policies concerning healthcare in the UK.

What is the NHS England?

A

2- NHS England – The umbrella body that oversees healthcare and its commissioning (buying and planning) of the services and used for strategies. Passes its money onto the ICB.

What are the ICBS ?

A

3- Integrated care board (ICB) – Run by a board of GPs, nurses, Consultants, and mental and Social Care representatives commissioning healthcare for their area. This looks at local health needs.

What is the NHS Foundation Trust?

A

Provide the care for the ICB commission. They include hospital, ambulance, mental health, social care, and primary services. Foundation Trusts are a specific type of NHS Trust. Foundation Trusts must engage with their local communities and encourage local people to become members.
