NGO that works w/ children, families and communities around the world to overcome poverty and injustice
they achieve this by using 3 approaches that underpin their work:
- community development
- tackling injustice thru policy change, education and advocacy
- humanitarian and emergency relief

provides maternal health services -> antenatal care -> ease’s mother’s stress and anxiety during pregnancy and childbirth -> mental
works alongside poor communities to reduce malnutrition -> if less children suffer from malnutrition -> immune system isn’t weak -> adequate energy levels -> physical
world vision promoting human development
focus on food security -> assists communities in growing more foods -> children are adequately nourished -> strong immune system so they’re less susceptibe to disease -> lead a long healthy life free from diseases like pneumonia
works to overcome poverty -> kids can go to school -> access knowledge and skills required for jobs -> increased employment opportunities -> earn income -> have access to resources needed for a decent standard of living like housing

NGO that aims to improve the lives of vulnerable ppl in aus and internationally by mobilising the power of humanity

reduces impact of disasters -> rebuild homes of those that have been destroyed by natural disasters -> reduces amount of ppl needing to relocate -> less ppl experience stress and anxiety due to forced displacement -> mental
reduces impact of disasters -> help restore safe water facilities after natural disasters -> less likely to drink from contaminated water -> reduces risk of water-borne diseases like cholera -> freedom of disease -> physical

provides communities who have been affected by natural disasters with resources like tools -> rebuild infrastructure like schools -> increases kids ability to continue to gain education -> increases their access to knowledge and enhancing their capabilities regarding future employment
installs safe water facilities -> increases access to clean water -> don’t have to drink contaminated water -> reduces risk of water-borne diseases like cholera -> well-functioning immune system -> lead a long healthy life
what is oxfam
australia’s largest international development organisations who’s vision revolves around created a just world without poverty where ppl can enjoy their rights and assume their responsibilities

during emergency situations -> oxfam provides life-saving assistance to ppl in need -> nutritious foods -> adequate energy levels -> physical
oxfam installs irrigation facilities -> produces more reliable crops -> farmers don’t experience food scarcity -> reduced stress and anxiety -> mental

following natural disasters/conflicts -> oxfam works w/ ppl to develop long-term projects to rebuild lives -> helps community get back in school -> gain education -> have access to knowledge and expand their choices + capabilities
oxfam seeks to influence governments to develop laws to help ppl get out of poverty -> if less ppl live in poverty then more ppl may have increased incomes -> ppl can afford their needs such as medications -> lead long and healthy lives as their condition can be treated and doesn’t result in death
