what is bilateral aid

to help reduce poverty and bring about long-term
sustainable development by helping governments
of recipient countries to strengthen their economic, political, health and education systems
examples of bilateral aid
- support large infrastructure projects (roads, bridges)
- fund small-community based projects such as

ppl aren’t forced to relocate -> maintain social connections within their community -> engage in community programs like walk-a-thons -> participate in the life of the community
