Q

What do Forces do to an object?

A

Forces may change the motion of an object. They may combine with other forces to affect motion

Q

Contrast Contact and Field Forces

A

Contact forces: act between objects that are in contact with each other and the forces only act when the objects are in contact
(Ex. Friction, ordinary pushes and pulls)

Field Forces: act without contact
(Ex. Gravity, electromagnetism)

6
Q

Which is important to the relationship between force and acceleration, Matter or Inertia? Why?

Q

Describe if and how objects move with no net force applied to them?

A

When there is no net force, an object’s motion does not change. An object at rest remains at rest, and an object at motion will remain in motion at a constant velocity
