I…well, I don’t like it. But you’re back now. I can see you. That’s good. I’ve been
trying to get better at chess. I’m not doing great, but I’m… trying. Anyway,
there’s no rush. I’ve got nothing but time. I don’t think you have much time. I
forgot how quickly they go. Years. You already look different than when you left
and I’m getting scared. Scared that one day I’ll make it back around to your side
of the planet and you won’t be there anymore. Everytime I can’t see you it gets
harder. I hate how much time I’m losing. How much of your time I’m missing.
But… I don’t know. It’s strange. I watch you every day and it’s just like I thought
it would be. You get up and you put on different clothes and you talk to people
you don’t really know and you walk around and you sleep. And you eat oatmeal.
You’re not doing anything special, or anything different than anyone else, and it’s
all just as pointless and stupid as I thought so why am I so terrified you won’t be
able to keep doing it? I don’t understand it. You put on a blue shirt yesterday and
the girl behind the counter at the coffee shop said it looked nice on you, and that
doesn’t matter at all except I almost cried. It doesn’t make any sense. Seven
billion people go through the same motions every day and it never meant anything
but suddenly it’s you and everything you do seems to matter so much it hurts. It
physically hurts. I didn’t know a person could do that to you. I don’t know how
you did it. There’s only one of you and the full weight of every single moment of
your life feels like it’s tearing me apart. And you felt this way about all of them. I
don’t know how you didn’t just break. Sorry, I didn’t mean to… I just miss you. I
