Agricultural Adjustment Act (1933-42)
Law offered subsidies to farmers for them to limit production of crops. Increased crop prices as the government paid for them to produce less so there was more demand.
Civilian Conservation Corps (1933-42)
Employed young men to work in national parks forests and fields and build infrastructure that wouldn’t damage wildlife. Employed 3 mil men and planted billions of trees and restored millions of acres of soil.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (1933-83)
Insurance for depositers, protected $2,500 in each account, to make banks more reliable with the public. Still around in a different form.
Tennessee Valley Authority (1933-now)
Provided power, flood control, and better agriculture to the Tennessee valley area in order to further the development in the area.
Securities and Exchange Commission (1934-now)
Security laws to protect 66 million people who invested in the stock market. Enforced the rules, and restored confidence in the stocks as investors and sellers had to be fair.
Social Security Act (1935-now)
Provided benefits for old people, unemployed, and disabled people. it created economic stability then and is still used, but not as great as before.
Works Progress Administration (1935-43)
Useful work for unemployed men, created 3.5 million jobs with men building bridges, buildings, and cultural artifacts.
