  • Paresthesias, pain, muscle tenderness
  • Depressed or absent tendon reflex
  • Due to DM, arteritis, leprosy

  • Proximal weakness, symmetric distribution
  • Begins in legs
  • Distal paresthesias, radicular pain
  • Tachycardia, hypo/hyperTN, facial flushing, impaired sphincter control
  • May follow infections, inoculations or surg procedures
