myasthenia gravis

A

psotis, double vision, dysarthria

fatiguability, fluctuant weakness

young and old bimodal dist

ginetic dispositoin, autoimmune triggers

Ix: EMG, serum acetylcholine recptor antobody testing.

Rx: pred for immunosuppression
pyridostigmine- boost amount of ach
thymectory (for thymoma)

ivig- for chrisis.

A

progressive weakness, speech and breathing problems, tounge wasting

mix upper and lower motor signs
no sensory signs

brisk reflexes.

ALS most common. pls- slow progression.

assoc with FTDementia

goldcoast criteria for diagnosis.

Rx: incurable
tofersen is new might work
