what is the McGurk Effect?
a perceptual phenomenon which happens when a person perceives that the movement of another individual’s lips do not match up with what that individual is actually saying
is sound or vision processed faster?
sound
primitive streak moves in to form the neural plate, groove and closes off to form a neural tube. tube grows by genes that are no longer active (why it is hard to repair brain damage)
how much does the brain weigh and how much of our body mass does it consist of?
1.3 kg and 2.3% of body mass
why are primitive reflexes (grasp reflexes) in older people bad?
since it shows the brain is so damaged that the primitive grasp reflex can not be surpressed
how long are children ambidextrous for?
till the age of 3 generally
