-bradycardia, hypotension, gingival hyperplasia
-no oral contraceptives
-dont stop abruptly, take folic acid
-stop tube feeding 1-2 hours before and after meds

-drys body
-tropine, atropine
-“can’t pee with atropine”
-antidote of cholinergic crisis
-can treat Parkinson’s to decrease muscle rigidity and shuffling
-don’t give to clients that are already dry (bph,urinary retention,glaucoma)

-Can cause malignant hyperthermia (MH)
-MH: muscle rigidity, very hot
-need to screen patients to GA, blood relative with reaction to anesthesia
-antidote: dantrolene

A

-parkinsons have low dopamine
-carbadopa, levadopa
-carbadopa: conserves dopaminee
-levadopa: leaves dopamine inside body
-red brown urine, sweat,saliva are expected
-no high protein meals
-decreases tremors and rigidity, not cures
