What is corpus callosum?
Corpus callosum is a transverse, wide and fat bundle of myelinated fibers connecting the two cerebral hemispheres of brain in man.
What do you know about arbor vitae?
The white mater of each cerebellar hemisphere is spread like branches of a tree, which is known as arbor vitae.
Why is the sympathetic division called thoraco-lumbar division?
In sympathetic division, the preganglionic neurons arise from the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spinal cord.
Hence, sympathetic division is called the thoracic lumbar division.
Why is the parasympathetic division called craniosacral division?
The cell bodies of preganglionic neurons of the parasympathetic division are located in the brain and sacral region of the spinal cord. Hence, para sympathetic division is called craniosacral division.
What is organ of Corti?
The cochlear epithelium of internal ear forms a sensory ridge called organ of Corti. It contains hair cells that act as audit ory receptors.
