User access levels
A
- These are the permissions users have on a network. (usually the ID of a user will have certain permissions linked to it.
- At the highest access level the user can access everything on the network
- prevents people accessing information they shouldn’t be able to

Password protection
A
- Passed must be entered before data is accessed by a user
- Prevents sensitive and private information being accessed within the network

Encryption
A
- Encoding data so that only people that have been authorised can access it
- Encrypted data requires a key to make it readable
- The nodes that are communicating with encryption agree on the key before encryption, transmission and decryption.
