Define Malware
A software that is installed on someone’s device without them knowing
Define social engineering
A way of gaining private information or illegal access to networks by influencing people
Define Brute force
Uses automated software to produce hundreds of username and password combinations. Trial and error is used to gain access to a system.
Define denial of service
Involves flooding a server with fake requests which makes the website or network very slow and inaccessible to legitimate users.

Someone monitors data on a network and captures any personal data they see.
Define SQL injection
SQL code is used to access databases by typing it in to a websites input box which reveals personal data.

When organisations employ specialists to identify possible weaknesses in a networks security.
Define anti - malware
It is software designed to find and stop malware from damaging networks and devices.
Define firewall
They examine data entering and leaving a network and block any potential threats.
Define user access levels
Theses control which part of a network different groups of users can access which limits the amount of people with access to important data.
Define encryption
When data is translated into a code which only someone with the correct key can access
