Used to forward traffic within a LAN. Catalysts are Cisco’s switch brand. Newest is 9000 series.
What is a firewall
Helps protect end host inside the network.
Can be software(Norton) or hardware(Cisco ASA- cisco classic firewall)
Control traffic and can be placed inside or outside your network. Can be configured with rules to see what traffic is allowed and denied.
What is a server
provides functions or services for clients. Designed to act as a central repository. PC’s can be servers when they provide a service.
What is a client/endhost/endpoint
access a service made available by servers.

yes. Because it’s a digital telecommunications network. share resources and can have a conversation.
