Net Ionic Equations Flashcards
1
Q
When can net ionic equations be written?
A
For single and double displacement reactions
2
Q
What is a total ionic equation?
A
- It shows all soluble ions in their dissociated form
- liquids, solids and gases remain in their regular form and are not severed out
3
Q
What are spectator ions?
A
- Ions that are aqueous on both sides, they do not change in any way
- Spectator ions are crossed out from the reaction and the equation is rewritten as a net ionic equation
