Describe the components of the CNS
Consists of the brain and spinal cord
Collection of nerve cell bodies is called a nucleus
Collection of nerve fibres is a tract
Greg matter made up of cell bodies and white matter if tracts
Three membranous outer layers the Dura, arachnoid and Pia matter constitute the meniges
Pia thin membrane attavhed to the brain csf between Pia and arachnoid dura matter external to Both tough fibrous layer
Describe peripheral nerve fibres and nerves
A peripheral nerve fibre
Consists of an axon, it’s nerulemma and surrounding endoneurom
Nerulemma is made of Swann cells that either enwrap the fibre forming myelin or don’t
Nerve is made up of bundles or fascicles of nerve fibres, connective tissue covering that bind fascicles and nerves fibre together and the Vaso nervorum that nourish he nerve
Each axon is surounded by endoneurom
Each fasicle is surrounded by perineurium
Each nerve and its Vaso nervorum is surrounded by epineurium
