Nervous System (P2) Flashcards

1
Q

What is the autonomic nervous system

A
  • network of nerves that control your internal organs and glands
  • Also it’s a involuntary system as you don’t control it consciously

Q

What is the fight or flight responce

A
  • When a threat is noticed , the brain Activates the sympathetic Ans
  • body responds with hormones which are released into bloodstream
  • Biological changes occure such as heart rate increase
  • then psychological changes occur
  • After threat has passed body becomes normal

Q

What is synaptic transmission

A

When pre synaptic neurons convert electrical signals to chemical signals

Then the signal is detected by a post synaptic neuron
