Monocular And Binocular Depth Cues(p1) Flashcards
Name the monocular depth cues
Height in a plane
Relative size
Occlusion
Liner perspective
Name all of the binocular depth cues
Retinal disparity
convergence
What is relative size(monocular)
More distant an object is , the smaller it looks
What is occlusion(monocular)
If an object A is blocking our view of object B , Object A will be precived as closer
What is Linear perspective(monocular )
Parallel lines converg as distance increases
What is height in a plane (monocular)
Distant objects tend to be higher up than closer objects
What is retinal disparity (binocular)
As each eye produces a different image of the world , the brain merges them together
The closer an object is , the more disparity it has
What is convergence (binocular)
The closer an object is ,the more our eyes have to converg
Brain uses that to calculate the distance between eyes and object
