Nerves Flashcards
What is a Martin-Gruber anastomoses?
A communicating branch between the ulnar and median/AIN nerve in the forearm. The result of which is that the ulnar innervated muscles distal are actually innervated by the median nerve or AIN.
What is a Riches-Cannieu anamostosis?
Communication between the deep branch of the ulnar nerve and the recurrent median thenar branch and results in ulnar innervation of the thenar muscles.
What is the Mainacci anastomosis
A communication between between the median and ulnar nerve in the forearm which is the opposite to Martin-Gruber.
What is a Berretini anastomosis?
Communication between the ulnar 4th common digital nerve and the median third common digital nerve.
What are the proximal compression sites of the median nerve?
Ligament of struthers
Bicepital aponeurosis (lacterus fibrosis)
Between deep and superficial heads of pronated teres
