Brachial Plexus Flashcards
What is the common mechanism of injury for a C8-T1 injury?
Traction ie hanging off a ladder.
Ulnar nerve
Draw the Brachial Plexus
What tests would you include for a C5 Assessment?
Muscle testing - deltoids and biceps.
Reflex - Bicep tendon
Sensation - superior aspect of shoulder and lateral arm(Regimand band area)
What would you consider in a C8 - T1 Assessment?
Muscles - hand intrinsics, Thumb Extension, thumb adduction
Sensation of medial aspect of arm and two medial digits.
What cord supplies the Ulnar nerve?
Medial Cord
What level is an Erb-Duchenne palsy?
What is the presentation?
Upper level C5 C6
Arm hangs at side, shoulder medially rotated, forearm pronated and wristt flexed. Loss of sensation on the lateral aspect of the arm(porter or waiter tip)
