Nerve supply of upper limb Flashcards
Spinal roots 5 + 6, sensory @ regimental badge area, motor @ teres minor and deltoid muscles.
Axillary Nerve
Spinal roots C5-7, sensory @ lateral forearm, motor @ anterior compartment of arm (BBC)
Musculocutaneous Nerve
Spinal roots C6-T1, sensory @ lateral palm and lateral 3.5 fingers (palmar), motor @ flexor muscles of anterior forearm (except flexor carpi ulnaris + part of flexor digitorum profundus)
Median Nerve
Spinal roots C5-T1, sensory @ posterior forearm + dorsal lateral palm + lateral 3.5 digits(dorsal), Motor @ triceps brachii + extensor muscles of forearm
Radial Nerve
Spinal roots C8-T1, sensory @ medial 1.5 fingers and asscoiated palm area, motor @ muscles of hand (except thenar muscles and lateral lumbricals), flexor carpi unaris + medial half of flexor digitorum profundus
Ulnar Nerve
Brachial Plexus oriinates from
C5 - T1 (axilla>medial arm, travels around brachial artery)
