Ilioinguinal- L1- skin genitalia/ upper medial thigh

Genitofemoral- L1/2- femoral branch skin upper anterior thigh

Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve of thigh- L2/3- cutaneous sensation anterolateral thigh to knee

Femoral nerve- L2/3/4- skin anterior thigh (anterior femoral cutaneous), skin medial leg (saphenous branch), muscles anterior thigh

Obturator nerve- L2/3/4- skin medial thigh, muscles medial thigh

Salmon is so perfectly pink

Superior gluteal N- L4/5, S1- glut med and min and tensor fascia lata

Inferior gluteal N- L5, S1/2- glut max

Sciatic N- L4/5, S1/2/3- muscles posterior thigh -> superior end popliteal fossa -> tibial N skin posterolateral leg/ lateral foot/ sole, motor deep and superficial posterior leg AND common peroneal N short head biceps femoris, motor lateral and anterior leg, skin anterolateral leg/ dorsum. Both form sural N -> posterolateral leg and lateral foot.

Posterior femoral cutaneous N- S1/2/3- skin posterior thigh and leg

Pudenal- S2/3/4

Trauma
Birth baby- shoulder impacted pelvis, Xs traction baby’s neck

C5 & C6 sensory alteration in dermatomes and paralysis muscles supplied (deltoid, teres minor, biceps brachii, brachioradialis, brachilais, coracobrachialis)

Medial rotation and adduction arm, extension elbow ‘waiters tip’ ERB’S PALSY

Lower brachial plexus injury how, palsy, effects, deformity

A

Forced hyperextension/ hyperabduction, falls from height and grabs a tree or baby’s arm delivered first traction KLUMPKE’S palsy

C8-T1 weakness movements

Claw hand deformity - hyperextension metacarpophalangeal joints, flexion interphalangeal joints, abduction thumb and wasting interossei
