what is the typical scenario for these patients?
A
recent IV gadolinium exposure in a patient with AKI or CKD. often 2-4 weeks after IV gad exposure

clinical findings
A
symmetric, painless, hyPERpigmented, indurated plaques on extremities>trunk

eye finding **
A
scleral plaque (white-yellow plaque on eye in patients < 45 yo**)

dermpath
A
similar to scleromyxedema but extends into deep fascia

treatment
A
- treat underlying kidney disease
- physical therapy to prevent joint contractures
- tends to be refractory to oral steroids and/or immunosuppressive agents
