Adenoma
An epithelial neoplasm that may or may not form glandular patterns
Papilloma
An epithelial neoplasm that forms finger-like projection.
It is usually called wart
Cystadenoma
Occurs in the ovaries
Sarcoma
A malignant tumour of connective tissue or messenchymal cells
Carcinoma
A balignant tumour of the epithelium
Mixed tumour
When different cells all coming from the same Germ layer, proliferate
Teratoma
When cells from different Germ layers proliferate.
Teratoma
Usually occurs in cells with a totipotential ( labile cells)
Examples of misnomas
- Lymphoma
- Seminoma/ disgerminoma
- Hepatoma

Grow into surrounding structures
Metastasis
Tumour cells move to other sites and grow.
Differentiation
The 3xt3nt to which the tumour cells resemble the parent cells
Benign tumours
Are well differentiated
Malignant tumours
Well differentiated to poorly differentiated
