Foramen ovale closure - First breath -> decrease in pulmonary vasculature pressure- > left atrial pressure greater than right -> closure of foramen ovale
How does the ductus arteriosus close?
Ductus arteriosus closure - First breath -> increase in oxygen -> decrease in prostaglandins -> closure of ductus arteriosus

Ectoderm
Which factors increase surfactant production?
Steroids and epidermal growth factor
Which factors decrease surfactant production?
Testosterone and insulin
